We hold positions, and we help build the companies we hold.

Vielis Investments is a privately held company. It takes equity positions in early-stage companies and works directly with the people building them.

Two kinds of work

Holdings

Vielis buys and holds equity in early-stage companies with its own capital. It does not manage outside money, raise funds, or solicit investment. A position means Vielis believes in the company enough to own part of it and stay involved.

Advisory

Founders and operators bring Vielis in when they are building something new — a product, a venture, a system that doesn't exist yet. The work is hands-on: figuring out what to build, planning how, and helping get it built.

What an engagement looks like

Most engagements start with a question that isn't fully formed yet — a founder knows something should exist but not what shape it takes.

The first stretch of work is scoping: getting specific about the problem, what already exists, what's actually required, and what can be left out. This usually ends with a written plan short enough that everyone involved has actually read it.

Then comes build planning — deciding what gets built first, what gets bought instead of built, who does the work, and what "done" means for the first version. Vielis is opinionated here. Small first versions, real users early, no architecture for problems you don't have yet.

Implementation is where most advisers leave and Vielis stays. That can mean building alongside the team, reviewing what gets made, or simply being the person the founder calls when a decision is hard. Engagements end when the thing works, not when the hours run out.
